It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain. ~ Isaiah 4:6
One of my favorite trees during the Summer is the Pink Silk-Mimosa tree;
A rose-colored, aromatic flower that provides shade and a calming environment.
I get to enjoy these flowers in my garden and appreciate its beauty in color and fragrance.
I can’t help but to think of Jesus in all of His beauty and fragrance, who provides shelter and shade for us through the storms of life. He can be our refuge, our hiding place if we let Him.
He calls us to a quiet place, to hide under the shadow of His wings and find refuge and rest for our souls. It's in that quiet place, in the place of His presence we feel safe and are safe.

It's in those moments when I am sitting outside under the canopy and it’s raining and I am just there enjoying His Peace, His nearness and it calms me and quiets my thoughts, takes away my fears and anxieties that everyday life brings. He reminds me that He is near, that He never left that He is always there waiting for us to draw near and just sit and wait and listen. We don’t have talk, he already knows what’s going on in our lives, He knows our thoughts He knows our concerns, He knows our fears, He knows everything.
Nothing is hidden from him, nothing is a surprise, He knows our coming and our going. He knows our inner thoughts and yet He still loves us and gives us the opportunity to draw close to Him, to know Him and then to Love Him and we can’t love Him unless we come to know Him.
