Stepping out of your comfort zone is easier said than done. I was getting ready for our trip to Europe still two weeks ahead and I was so nervous. I was having thoughts like maybe we should have planned a trip in the U.S. like Colorado. Its closer to home, its familiar to us. I had questions like what is it going to be like?, How are we going to be received? We don't know the language. I felt like I wasn't ready for this trip and the more I thought about it the more nervous I got and couldn't sleep. I tried my hardest not to think about it as much as I could, but the closer it got to our date we were leaving the more nervous I got. I would take time to sit and pray to God and tell him how scared I was, as silly it was to admit. I would tell him " God I am not ready for this trip" please get me ready. Give me courage to go on this trip, Give me peace and each time I would sit with him regarding this trip, which was many times I would hear his still small voice in my spirit. "I am with you wherever you go I am with you." It's time for you to break free from your comfort zone, the familiar. I have more for you to see and do, but in order for you to overcome fear and the familiar place you need to step out in faith and trust me. I knew that not everyday of our trip would be perfect so I prayed, God give me the grace on those days when it doesn't go perfect or the way we had planned, I just want to know you are with us on this trip. Well, I can say now that God was with us every step of the way. We won't know the more God has for us if we don't step out in faith and take risks, with God's wisdom of course. This applies to every area of our lives. Maybe its a taking a new job, moving to a new state, starting a new business or trying something new. We will never know if we don't step out.
I have no regrets even on that one day of our trip we kept getting lost and going in circles, I learned that day that man plans his way, but God directs our steps. If we put God first he will direct us in the right path, He knows best.
God gave me the courage to overcome my fears and the what if's. God wants us to enjoy life with him and we so enjoyed this trip.
What are some things you keep putting off because your afraid of stepping out in faith or courage?
What are your comfort zones you tend to go back to, because they feel safe and familiar?
God call us to Courage, Boldness and Faith.
When God calls us to do something He always provides.
In our strength we can do nothing, but in His strength we can do all things. Philippians 4:13
