Resting and Celebrating His goodness in Estes Park, Colorado, our favorite place to go rest and enjoy the beautiful nature God created for us to enjoy. This time we not only rested, but celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. I can’t say enough of this place, I always feel God’s peace and presence here and I come back refreshed. The resort that we stay in is so peaceful, quiet and it is right across from a river and waterfall. This is where I spend a lot of time journaling, just writing about it right now makes me wish I was there now.
This scripture comes to mind when I come here,
The Lord is my Shepherd; I lack nothing, He makes me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. And He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Psalms 23:1-3
Abba father wants us to rest and enjoy His peace and all the beautiful nature He created so that we can spend time with Him especially when you have been working very hard or going through trials and your soul just needs rest. Rest for your body and mind helps to give a new perspective to whatever trial you may be facing, or just rest for your body which is extremely healthy. God rested on the seventh day so why is it so hard for us to rest?. Or maybe we are trying to find rest in watching tv, movies, and other entertainment that really doesn’t satisfy or nourishes our spirt and soul. It may give temporary reliefs but not everlasting life and sustenance. Resting in Gods peace and presence and reading His word can give us answers to whatever we are facing or going through. It gives us strength for our body so that we can continue working, taking care of our families, helping others and most importantly spend alone time with Abba Father.
Mark 6,31 says.
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
My prayer and encouragement, may you make some time this week to rest and spend time with our Abba Father who loves you so much and thinks about you all the time and longs for you to spend time with Him.
